Cross-April 30, 2019-Cross Anchor, SC-By Gray Sutherland
On a day that felt more like the middle of July, Cross Anchor Raceway finally caught a break with Mother Nature to conclude the Winter Points for the Grassroots Karting Series. A strong band of 58 entries filed in as some had traveled from nearby Warrior Creek, which had hosted the Big 3 Series, and some normal racers up at Foothills had made the trek down.
Junior 1 arguably had the best finish of the day with Cameron Lambert nosing RJ Reese out of the groove for the race lead in Turn 4, only to have Cruz Mattison sneak by to his inside. Tyler Bowie had the best all around day by winning Junior 2 and 3 giving him 3 Junior class wins with one at the Big 3 the previous day. Olie Stinson took home 2 wins a well with SPG 375 and a competitve field in SPG 350 featuring Dustin Roddy, Tommy Jernigan, and Coby Lambert.Â
