With inclement weather once again knocking on the door, Foothills fired back up to finally put a wrap on the Summer Points Series that had seen its fair share of weather problems. Once the sun had set, much cooler air moved in and the track speed and grip level greatly increased. Seventy two entries filed in for the Summer Points wrap up as there were more than a few battles to be decided.

Quick Hits

Early on through the heat races drivers had to battle not only each other, but a transitioning racetrack as it went from a greasy slick surface to one with a packed grip level. Several drivers had roll over issues including a scary moment for points leader in flathead, Magan Kunkle, who was trapped beneath her rolled kart. Safety officials reached the scene quickly and Kunkle was alert and responsive. She did make the trip to the hospital for x-rays and the diagnosis was a fractured wrist. Kunkle did return to the track to finish watching the night. All other driver that had roll overs were OK as the karts did adjust to the grip level and no major incidents occurred during the main events.

If you were at the track, your eyes did not deceive you as there were 2 mohawks on track. Ernie Bob (Eron Bryant) swept through Clone 450 and 425 but in between those was the little mohawk of Kamden Bryant in Pee Wee. The young driver looked smooth and ready for comeption in the 28. Junior 3 once again featured great action as Riley Robinette, Junior 1 Heavy Champion from Neeses Kayden Presnell, and Landan Breedlove battled hard for the lead until Robinette was able to slide ahead of Presnell for the win. Richard Dodgens came from deep in the Predator 375 field, starting 6th and fending off Billy West on Rita the Rocket and Blake Rathbone. The triple Predator streak was broken for Rita but this would not diminish the flame for the 4. Dustin Roddy would pilot the Trick Olympic chassis to wins in Predator 350 and Predator 325 so for the last 3 weeks, Roddy has the win streak in those. Two different Out of the Box races were added to the card with 425 and 375. Billy West also had the double winning on two different karts with the 4W in Predator 425 and then taking over the 42 in Out of the Box 425. In 375, Haley Alewine picked up a momentous win in the class coming from the 3rd starting spot. Rex Reece ended up sweeping through Clone 325 for the heat and main on the 316. Money was on the line as usual in Clone 350 and a stacked field could not catch the 37 of Cameron Aroneck who used a late race surge to drive away. It also was a two kart night for Aroneck with the 37 in 350 and the 45 in 325.

When the final points become available, Summer Champions will be added later on.
